History of our company

1993

PLC Construction, Inc. is established and opens first office

In 1993, PLC Construction opened its first modest office in Hardin, Texas. That same year, the company secured its first project—Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) work on a TEG skid. This early work laid the foundation for more than 15 years of continued I&E project success across multiple facilities, helping establish PLC as a trusted and reliable industry partner.

1997

Awarded Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Construction contracts at several Cryo Facilities throughout Wyoming and Colorado

2004

La Grange – First job with ETC

PLC was awarded to build an ESD Panel for the city of La Grange and to provide on-site consulting. This led to a long working relationship on future projects.

2008

Awarded expansion work at a Central Transfer Facility in Colorado

2009-2010

Resilience Through Industry Downturn

During the recession, PLC continued operating steadily despite a widespread industry slowdown. While market activity declined significantly, PLC maintained its workforce and ensured operational continuity. This unwavering commitment to stability allowed clients to receive responsive service and dependable project support—even in the most challenging economic conditions.

2010-2011

Sustained Operations Through Strategic Project Execution

A major compressor station expansion project awarded during this period enabled PLC to maintain momentum despite limited market activity. By efficiently deploying resources and emphasizing operational discipline, PLC upheld high service standards and remained well-positioned for future growth as industry activity rebounded.

2012

Anadarko West Texas Begins

In 2012, PLC began working with Anadarko Petroleum Corporation (APC) in Kermit, Texas, making a significant expansion into West Texas. This work represented a significant achievement for PLC as the company strived to become a leading provider to the Oil & Gas Industry. Around the same time, they were contacted by TGGT Midstream. PLC was invited to East TX/Louisiana to organize and upgrade their facilities. This award supports PLC’s longstanding reputation and loyalty of past customers returning to work with them, as PLC was known for delivering quality projects.

2013

PLC expands – Field Services Division opened in Carrizo Springs, Texas

Building on its growing reputation, PLC was selected in 2013 as a contractor for I&E construction, programming, and commissioning services at the APC Brasada Gas Plant in South Texas. This project further demonstrated PLC’s technical expertise and ability to deliver high-quality solutions in complex industrial environments.

2014

Michael Schwegel Joins PLC as Pipeline & Facilities Manager

PLC Construction welcomed Michael Schwegel as its new Pipeline & Facilities Manager. In this role, Michael took the lead on PLC’s mechanical construction operations and helped strengthen internal construction integrity across the division.

EF90 Oil Storage Facility Expansion, Corpus Christi, Texas

In late 2014, PLC was awarded I&E construction of a major oil storage facility in Corpus Christi. PLC’s Construction division had become well-known in the industry for its strong project execution capabilities and the ability to deliver turnkey solutions for clients.

2015

PLC Construction Inc. adds Engineering Services Division

PLC expanded beyond construction by launching an Engineering Services division, appointing Dan Eaves as Director of Engineering to strengthen capabilities by providing the full suite of engineering services.

In September 2015, the Presnull’s took a chance. They decided to venture beyond construction, and they saw the benefits that having an engineering department under the PLC umbrella could generate; not only in the addition of services, but also as a supporting group to both legitimize their market influence and to enhance their construction capabilities. They looked to their past, and added the engineering services division with the addition of Dan Eaves, a colleague whom they had a decade of experience with and that shared their vision and their dedication to the industry and their craft.

2016

Well Pad Construction for APC Begins

PLC was awarded repeat well pad construction projects throughout 2016. By adhering to a rigorous schedule, PLC consistently delivered these sites on time and within budget, reinforcing its reputation for reliability and efficiency.

2018

PLC Construction, Inc. Corporate Headquarters

PLC proudly opened their headquarters in Liberty, Texas.

PLC Construction celebrates 25 years of service!

2022

PLC expands - Fabrication Facility opened in Liberty, Texas.

An 8-acre campus featuring a 25,000 sq. ft. fabrication shop, advanced crane systems, and dedicated hydro-testing and paint facilities—designed to deliver precision, scale, and innovation for our clients.

2025

PLC expands into the Rockies – opened office in Denver, Colorado

PLC takes a bold step forward, expanding their footprint with a new office in the Denver metro area. PLC unveils a cutting-edge Engineering & Design office staffed with experience professionals, reinforcing our commitment to innovation, client success, and the continued expansion of EPC services for our regional client base.

Strategically located with an engineering office in Denver, Colorado, a fabrication shop and headquarters in Liberty, Texas, and construction operations in Kermit, Texas, PLC is positioned to serve clients nationwide. Our portfolio spans from cryo facilities, gas processing plants, liquid fractionation units, and complex midstream infrastructure. Eddie Presnull

Construction – Owner

Eddie founded PLC Construction, Inc. in 1993 as a firm specializing in (I&E) services for the oil and gas industry. Under his leadership, PLC has grown into a full-service EPC firm, supported by a team of highly skilled professionals. Today, PLC delivers a wide range of solutions for clients across multiple industries, combining expertise with a commitment to quality and safety.

Jason Presnull

Construction Manager

A lifelong member of the PLC Construction team, Jason joined the company in 1994. Since day one, Jason has ensured the continued success and growth of PLC through his keen involvement in all projects, large and small.

Michael Schwegel, PMP, CWI

Pipeline and Facilities Manager

Since joining PLC in 2014, Michael has used his 18 years of experience in scheduling, construction, and management in the petrochemical industry to manage and develop PLC’s Pipeline and Facilities division.

Director of Engineering Services/Business Development

Dan has developed and managed the Engineering Services division of PLC Construction & Engineering since he joined the company in 2015.

Kyle Spear, P.E.

Director of Automation

Kyle joined PLC Construction in 2015 as the Control Systems Integration Manager. He brings with him over 15 years of experience in engineering, systems integration, and management of facilities in the oil and gas market.

Jason Alvey

Director of SCADA/Automation

Jason is the Director of SCADA. He has over 25 years of experience in SCADA system architecture design, field communication systems design, control system design, configuration, and commissioning .

Paul Snyder

Control Systems Manager/Automation

Paul brings 10 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry. His expertise spans the full lifecycle of control systems, including design, programming, commissioning, and start-up support from small well-pad sites to large Cryo facilities.

Mark Doyle, P.E.

Director of Project Management

Mark is PLC’s Director of Project Management. He entered the oil and gas industry 18 years ago, first working for an engineering consulting firm as a drafter, process/mechanical engineer, project engineer, and later as a project manager.

Jon St. Clair, P.E.

Director of Renewables/Municipal – Director of Civil/Structural Engineering

Jon serves as the Director of Renewables/Municipal and the Director of Civil/Structural Engineering. With over 20 years of experience in multidiscipline projects, primarily in the energy sector, he leads our RNG Engineering initiatives while heading the Civil/Structural team.

Ryan Smith, P.E.

Director of Project Engineering & Design

Ryan serves as the Director of Project Engineering, having joined the team in 2023 as Process Engineering Director. With over a decade of experience in the oil and gas industry, he now leads our project engineering team to deliver innovative and efficient solutions.

Tim Brightman

Design Manager

Tim serves as Design Manager with over two decades of experience in the oil and gas industry, specializing in Piping Design and Construction Support. He leads a skilled team of drafters and designers dedicated to delivering engineering excellence.

Jeremy Sell

Director of Relief Systems

Jeremy serves as the Director of Relief Systems at PLC, bringing over 15 years of engineering and project management experience in oil & gas industry. Since joining PLC in 2024, he has led a team dedicated to delivering quality and comprehensive evaluations for our clients.
